Galaxies
The Milky Way
There a many theories of how our galaxy “Milky Way” is formed. But a lot of scientists believe that our galaxy was formed from fragments of different gas clouds that formed together. Those clouds formed a protogalactic Milky Way and then it collapsed. The Milky Way galaxy is what they call a “barred spiral galaxy” which is a spiral galaxy with a central bar-shaped form in the middle made of stars.
Elliptical
Elliptical galaxies are galaxies having an ellipsoidal shape and a smooth, almost featureless bright galaxy. Elliptical galaxies vary in sizes some can be a circular shape and others can be long and narrowed. This type of galaxy, is made of old low massed stars and have minimal star activity which is surrounded by what they call globular clusters.
Spiral
Spiral galaxies are made of a rotating disk of stars and interstellar medium, along with a center with a bulge of usually older stars. This type of galaxy has a spiral arm and is believed to have a higher density matter.
Irregular
Irregular galaxies are galaxies that don’t have the same form as a regular galaxy, for example a spiral or an elliptical galaxy. Besides not having the same type of shape irregular galaxies do not have a dwarf galaxy.
