America Today
What is America today? Is there enough Patriotism or are people forgetting about this country? Our country needs to have patriots around, otherwise this country wouldn’t be as good as it is today. Even though there was a recession, but it could have been way worse. Some people even may ask what are, patriots and no they aren’t just the football team. The true definition of a patriot is “A person who vigorously supports his/her country and its way of life”. Patriots are America’s hope. If there weren’t any people who cared imagine what would happen? Not all patriots fight for their country, they can also do many more things to show their appreciation, like maybe clean up litter or help the homeless. Patriots, want to do the best they can to make this country the best. Studies have shown that ever since the tragic event that occurred on September 11, 2001, Patriotism has been become stronger than ever. I think more people realized how much this country really means to them. Ever since then the security has been more cautious and airports have created more procedures for it to be a safe flight on the plane. And that proves that the citizens of America are trying to protect this country and that is patriotism. Other than supporting America, patriots also support people that are in the army. Sometimes schools help and try to support the troops by having students send cards to people serving our country. Also this essay can also be considered patriotism since we are talking about our country and patriots. Even patriots join the army to show that they would die for our country and fight for our freedom.
In conclusion, the question was “Does patriotism still matter today?” and I think patriotism will always matter. In the future there will be more wars and people who serve for us will need people back home to support them. Also I would like to add if there was another tragic event that happens to America, there would have to be people that care and put an effort to bring back peace to America if that happened. Patriotism isn’t something to just ignore because if there weren’t people that cared, then who would we have to fight for our freedom?
